Aromatherapy products are used by millions of people all over the world. More than a billion dollars worth of these products are sold each year. These products are especially attractive to those that are tired of prescription and synthetic drugs and who want to renew and cure their bodies using natural ingredients.

For those that have just begin to practice aromatherapy, it may be confusing to discover the wide discrepancy in pricing between what looks like identical aromatherapy bath products. So before you spend your hard earned money, do a brief bit of research on the prices that the various companies are charging for the particular product that you want. After look at about 10 or so, you’ll have a good idea of the average price for that product.

Compute the median price of the product from all of the companies you have surveyed. Any company selling the product too far out of this median range should cause you to raise a few red flags. If a company is selling the product too low, it may be using synthetic essential oils instead of natural ones. If a company selling the product too high, it may be simply taking advantage of its buyers.

Essential oil based products have now become so popular that you can find them in your local drug stores. Although, you can buy aromatherapy products from drug stores, beauty stores, and health stores, you have a much better chance of getting “real” aromatherapy products from the health store. Also, look for the word “100% essential oil” or its equivalent on the product label. And the best quality essential oils are stored in glass bottles. Real essential oils can interact with plastic bottle possibly causing the bottle to leak and the essential oil to be contaminated.

Not all countries look at aromatherapy in a negative light the way that our medical profession does. For example, in France and many other countries aromatherapy is practiced along side of so called “normal” medicine. France even regulates some of the essential oils as prescription drugs. All in all, there is not the stigma attached to aromatherapy that there is in this country.

The practice of aromatherapy is not regulated In the United States. And neither are the products which lay claim to be aromatherapeutic in nature. So you are taking a chance when you buy yoru aromatherapy products from a new source that you’ll actually get what you pay for. One way to mitigate this problem, however, is to use the services of a qualified aromatherapist who can point you to the best places to get your product from.

In the United States. many conventional doctors look down on people using an aromatherpist to help with their treatments. But the millions of people that use aromatherapy products and treatments, swear by them. While it is certainly a fact that a qualified aromatherapist does not have to attend as many hours of school as a traditional doctor, she does have to have some training. And when it comes to expertise on the effects of aromatherapy products, she undoubtedly has much more experience and knowledge of essential oils and how they affect the body. This is not to say that an aromatherapist should replace your doctor. In fact, many places don’t even require that they be licensed. But when you’re dealing with your health, it never hurts to get multiple opinions from as many knowledgeable sources as you can.
